I’m tired. There’s a lot going on, and I’m still writing through it all. Honestly, I must be crazy.
I love post-apocalyptic stories, but I don’t dare write them myself. Part of it is that I’ve seen and read way too much of it, but I’m also terrified of messing it up.
Jack was ‘recruited’ by the ship’s security force, but it felt more like he was being babysat. That was, it did, but when he and his escort (read: babysitter) find an attempted murder on a tram, things go from quiet to crazy in an instant.
I swear, it’s not an ego thing. I’m just an easily distracted toddler in a room full of shiny objects.
I haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep in, maybe, a month. My four-year old likes to wait until about midnight and then come downstairs and climb into bed with us, and he’s not quiet about it. Jack is being tailed by security officers, but when hiding doesn’t solve the problem, his only solution might be to go into the belly of the beast itself.
Obviously, this is affecting my ability to write. I wouldn’t be able to focus on any writing if I tried. I can barely focus on this blog post, and even if I didn’t find it difficult to write about myself and my thoughts, writing this post is nearly impossible. The only reason I’m able to write this at all is that I think there’s something to learn in this situation.
I never minded working in a restaurant, especially if I’m in the back of the house. I can cook, wash dishes, empty trash, all that stuff.
